Get on the Pollinator Pathway Map in the Town of Mount Pleasant!

The Pleasantville Garden Club is running a campaign to invite and encourage all residents of the Town of Mount Pleasant to create their own native pollinator garden. It’s very simple to do and it’s a great way to take the first step in helping to save the bees, butterflies, and other pollinator insects as well as to help mitigate the climate crisis. Together we can create corridors for pollinators to pass freely from one green space to another, thus increasing their population and health.

What is a pollinator pathway? According to pollinator-pathway.org, it is “Public and private pesticide-free corridors of native plants that provide nutrition and habitat for pollinating insects and birds. Even the smallest green spaces, like flower boxes and curb strips, can be part of a pathway.”

To get on the map you need to meet three requirements: plant native pollinator-friendly plants, avoid pesticides and lawn chemicals, and reduce the size of your lawn a little bit.
